Lego, the brand that has been bringing building joy to people off all ages for over 70 years
Lego History:
1932 - Began in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen who started by making wooden toys
1947 - The company started producing plastic toys, and in 1949 the company started producing a early version of the now famous interlocking brick calling them automatic binding bricks
1958 - Under the stewardship of Ole's son, Godtfred, the modern brick design as we know it today was created and a patent application was filed in Denmark
1978 - Minifigures are produced, which are now a staple in lego sets and highly collectable
2011 - The spaceshuttle endeavor takes 136 kits to the international space station, to se how the react in microgravity, as part of the lego bricks in space program
2022 - It is estimated that there are 400 billion lego bricks in the world, which is stacked ontop of eachother would reach a incredible 2,386,065 miles tall
